Dunfermline, Castle Drive, Pitreavie Castle, Emergency Generator House is a twentieth-century generating plant, not a castle chamber or palace room. It may have kept Pitreavie Castle alive during storms when the main grid failed, forcing fire, water and light to continue without warning. The building is small, urgent and useful, more like a heart valve than a monument.
