What is recorded here

Castle Street in Dundee still carries a 19th-century lamp standard, the kind of ordinary public fixture that made a busy street visible after dark. It is the sort of place where people may have argued, waited, kissed or simply gone home under a small circle of light. The street changed around it, but the lamp kept its job: marking the road, holding the dark at a distance, and making the city easier to remember.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dundee, Castle Street, Lamp Standard as Lamp Post (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
