What is recorded here
Castle Huntly’s east walled garden stands in Perth and Kinross, its boundary marked only by a point accurate to one metre. The wall may have excluded unwanted guests, kept out winter wind, or simply defined the reach of a household that no longer answers knocks. What is certain is that the garden still belongs to the estate, not to passing curiosity.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dundee, Castle Huntly, East Walled Garden as Walled Garden (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
