Mud, water and stone still mark the moat around Dundas Castle. A medieval stronghold rose above that wet ring, watching the land and warning every person who approached without invitation. The castle itself has vanished, but the knowe and ditch remain. They preserve the shape of a household that believed walls could defeat time.
