Fourteen Castle Gardens in Stirling stands as twentieth-century military housing, a practical build for people who answered to duty rather than taste. Its rooms may have held young officers, tired mothers or temporary families, all waiting out war or peace inside ordinary walls. The address still belongs to Drymen, but the lives that filled it have faded into the stone.
