This black commemorative plaque records: Donald Matheson 1860-1935 Engineer-in-Chief for Caledonian Railway Company. One of his notable projects was the design of Glasgow Central Station Roof using simple deep steel Warren girders with maximum spans of 350 feet to give a spacious station concourse as part of the reconstruction of the station 1901-06.
