On tract of boggy ground on E side of Foherish River basin. Monument is badly damaged; early accounts indicate wedge-shaped gallery (L c. 2m; Wth c. 1m at W end narrowing to c. 0.8m to E) aligned E-W, having septal stone at W end preceded by short portico. Portal dolmen; likely dates to the Neolithic period (c. 4000–2500 BCE). Its wedge-shaped gallery and septal stone suggest a transitional form in megalithic tomb development in Ireland.
