Castle Campbell Hotel stood at 9-11 Bridge Street in the nineteenth century, a tall shadowy presence on the water before becoming modern flats. The building may have hosted travellers, merchants and lovers whose names vanished, but the rooms still hold the shape of that busy past. Dollar is small enough for the hotel's memory to remain sharp, a place where old ambition and new domestic life share the same walls.
