This blue commemorative plaque records: This embankment above this former railway arch carried the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway. Fully opened 1st May 1885 finally closed August 1964 after the reorganisation of British Railways. Recorded plaque organisation: Whitchurch Town Council.
