What is recorded here

Top of Slieve League, a replica corbelled hut stands beside ancient penitential cairns and three real hut sites, built from their shapes rather than invented. The copy is a folly, but it is also a bridge: it lets a modern person step inside the discipline of the place instead of only staring at it. The real huts keep their silence; the replica gives that silence a shape generous enough to enter.
Located on top of Slieve League with panoramic views in all directions with a cluster of penitential cairns (DG090-004012-) and three hut sites (DG090-004009/10/011-) located 250m to the NE. This corbelled hut site is a replica hut site that was recently constructed based on the design of the nearby hut sites (pers. comm. G Curran 29 June 2010-).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
