In a forest. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a decoy pond with a central island and channels running off its four corners. Ducks were attracted onto the island and at various times were decoyed into the channels where they were caught in nets. The flow of water was regulated in the channels (information Dr. C. Cunniffe). The pond has dried up but the central island and traces of the channels are evident. The site is heavily overgrown with trees. It may be associated with the Eyre family.
