David Ogilvy, 12th Earl of Airlie

David Ogilvy, 12th Earl of Airlie, was born in Cahir, County Tipperary, Ireland on 18 July 1893, the eldest son of the 11th Earl and Lady Mabell Gore. He inherited his father's titles at age six after the 11th Earl died in the Boer War, then grew into a soldier, peer and courtier who carried a crown at Mary of Teck's coronation in 1911. His life moved between Scottish estates, British regiments and royal rooms, marked by the Military Cross, the Order of the Thistle and a racehorse named Master Robert that won the 1924 Grand National in his colours.
