This blue commemorative plaque records: Daniel Wade Acraman 1775 - 1847. Iron founder and merchant, erected this building, Acraman's Warehouse, No. 1 Quay in 1831. Samuel Taylor Coleridge called him "the father of the Fine Arts in this city." Recorded plaque organisation: Bristol Civic Society.
Daniel Wade Acraman was a prominent iron founder and merchant who significantly contributed to the development of fine arts in his city, as evidenced by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's praise, and he erected Acraman's Warehouse in 1831.
