Dalreoch Cave

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dalreoch Cave as Cave (nil Antiquity), Covenanters Cave (17th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dalreoch Cave is a small limestone cave, likely formed through natural dissolution processes typical of Carboniferous limestone in southern Scotland. It is traditionally associated with the Covenanters, who may have used it as a place of refuge during the 17th century religious persecution.
