Estate Bridge is an 18th century road bridge beside Dalhousie Castle in Midlothian. It is the kind of place where stones remember carts, boots and rain long after the names have faded. Maybe someone crossed it at dawn with bread for a child, or fled it at dusk with fear in their chest. Either way, the bridge still holds that motion, waiting for a person brave enough to remember it.
