Kennel Mount rises beside Culzean Castle as a deliberate earthwork, shaping the estate boundary long before stone walls caught the eye. Men may have carried soil uphill in teams, bending their backs until the bank stood firm against rain and time. The mount still holds that hidden labour, waiting for a walker to notice the line where human effort changed the shape of South Ayrshire.
