Cruden Bay, St Olave's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cruden Bay, St Olave's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Olave's Well is associated with St Olaf (or Olave), a 10th-century Norse king and Christian martyr, venerated in parts of northern Britain and Scandinavia. The well may have been a site of pilgrimage and healing, reflecting the fusion of Norse and Christian traditions in medieval Scotland.
