What is recorded here

This black commemorative plaque records: Crown Court is named after a row of cottages, formerly standing near here, which were demolished in 1950 to link the town's first public car park with the High Street. The brick built shops across the road are early 19th Century. Recorded plaque organisation: The Godalming Trust.
Crown Court, Godalming, commemorates a row of cottages demolished in 1950 to create a public car park, reflecting the town's evolution from its prosperous 16th-century wool trade roots to modern urban development.
