What is recorded here

This stone is currently incorporated into the interior E wall of St Peakaun's church (TS075-023001-). It is described by Okasha and Forsyth (2001, 258-9) as a small slab (H c. 0.23m; Wth c. 0.3m; T c. 0.05m visible) and is 'an apparently complete slab which has suffered damage to its lower edge. Incised on its visible face is an outline Latin cross with expanded terminals. Below is a single, complete, horizontal line of text'. It is listed as Toureen Peacaun 19 (ibid.). The stone was uncovered during the 1944 excavation (Duignan 1944, 227; Macalister 1949, 213). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
