Cross-slab in Toureen

This stone is currently incorporated into the interior E wall of St Peakaun's church (TS075-023001-). It is described by Okasha and Forsyth (2001, 251-2) as a small slab (H c. 0.19m; Wth c. 0.14m) and is 'a fragment of a slab of unknown form. Incised on its visible face is a small linear equal-armed cross with expanded terminals. This initial cross is immediately followed by the first letter of a fragmentary text, the letter being only a little smaller than the cross. There is part of a second letter'. It is listed as Toureen Peacaun 15 (ibid.). The stone was uncovered during the 1944 excavation (Duignan 1944, 227; Macalister 1949, 213).
