What is recorded here

This stone is currently incorporated into the interior E wall of St Peakaun's church (TS075-023001-). It is described by Okasha and Forsyth (2001, 239-41) as a small slab (H c. 0.265m; Wth c. 0.25m; T c. 0.035m visible) and is 'a fragment of a slab of unknown form …Incised on the visible face of the stone are an outline equal-armed cross with slightly expanded arms and the remains of a single horizontal line of text interrupted by the lower cross-arm'. It is listed as Toureen Peacaun 7 (ibid.). The stone was uncovered during the 1944 excavation (Duignan 1944, 227; Macalister 1949, 213). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
