Cross-slab in Toureen

This stone is currently incorporated into the interior E wall of St Peakaun's church (TS075-023001-). It is described by Okasha and Forsyth (2001, 248-9) as a small slab (H c. 0.17m; Wth c. 0.29m; T c. 0.05m visible) and is 'part of a rectangular slab which is missing its bottom left-hand corner. A large area of the surface has broken off in this same corner. Incised on its visible face is an outline equal-armed cross with the remains of a single horizontal line of text below'. It is listed as Toureen Peacaun 13 (ibid.). The stone was uncovered during the 1944 excavation (Duignan 1944, 227; Macalister 1949, 213). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
