Clear water, a hungry church, and one remembered man. That is why the story still stands.

A monastery at Lemanaghan (Liath Manchán) was founded in the 7th century by Manchán whose feastday is celebrated on the 24th of January (Ó Riain 2011, 429). Probably from the early medieval period, associated with the monastery founded by St Manchán in the 7th century; the cross-slab likely served a liturgical or commemorative function, reflecting Christian devotion and monastic activity in the area.
