What is recorded here

Half a metre of stone stands at the south end of the Knocks burial ground, leaning slightly across the grass with a ringed Latin cross carved on its eastern face. The expanded terminals of the cross still hold their shape, though age has softened every other angle. Whatever hand cut that ring worked quickly and confidently, leaving no margin for error. The dead around it have been forgotten, but the cross remains visible, marking the boundary between the living field and the buried place.

At S end of burial ground (CO122-101001-), small stone (H 0.5m; 0.3m x 0.2m); long axis NE-SW. Inscribed on SE with face-ringed Latin cross (H 0.33m; Wth 0.2m) with expanded terminals.
