What is recorded here

Davis 1984 found a small broken stone in Clonmacnoise, not much bigger than a bread loaf, with two damaged letters AT still visible on its surface. The cross is missing, the edges are flaked, and most of the name has gone, but those two letters remain like a hand reaching out of forgetting. They may belong to a person, a prayer, or a marker for another world, yet they still point toward someone important enough to cut into stone.
