Half a metre of pale stone, thin as a knife, holds a ring cross with hollow angles and a pointed base. OR AR CHUINDLES[S] still runs across the left arm and down the side, though wear has blurred the stem and part of the name. In Clonmacnoise that much is enough: someone was remembered, naming was attempted, and the church kept the slab visible long after the person disappeared.

Date likely to the 9th–10th century AD, consistent with early Christian inscribed cross-slabs in Ireland. The inscription includes a personal name ("Chuindles") and may mark a Christian burial, reflecting the monastic and memorial traditions of the Clonmacnoise area.
