What is recorded here

Cross-slab CLN00433 at Clonmacnoise is a badly flaked fragment, only 0.21 metres high and 0.12 metres wide, with no inscription and a shape so worn it may be a terminal expansion or re-used stone. It belongs to the old grave-slab field where Clonmacnoise kept its dead, and what remains is small enough to hide under a boot or in a hedge bank. Davis found evidence of it in 1984, but the slab itself has given back little except the fact that it once stood among the buried.

Date likely to the early medieval period, given the context of Clonmacnoise as an important monastic site. The lack of inscription and uncertain form suggest it may have been repurposed or part of a decorative or structural element rather than a dedicated memorial.
