What is recorded here
The smallest cross-slab at Clonmacnoise is a flaked fragment thirty-five centimetres high, its outline cross doubling as the inner line of a two-line frame. It has no inscription and no surviving base, yet its tight geometry suggests a grave marker made for someone who wanted to be remembered without naming themselves.
