What is recorded here

No cross exists on the broken slab, only the name Dithraid carved beside OR DO before the stone fractured. That much is clear. The boy or girl who died there is not named in the surviving words, but the chisel marked the loss before forgetting could erase it.

Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00481 Dimensions: T 0.11 A single line inscription. There is no evidence for a cross. Now part of the wall of Temple Dowling. Inscription: Inscribed 'OR D[O DITHRAID' Evidence of discovery: J. Graves and W. Hennessey took a rubbing in 1869. Not found by Macalister. Condition: A broken slab; most of the inscription remains.
