Clonmacnoise cross-slab CLN00524 is a small worn fragment, fifteen centimetres tall and seven point five wide, marked by one crudely carved line and no inscription. It is the kind of stone that may have stood beside a forgotten grave, been buried under grass, or been moved by hands that never wrote their name. What is left is a thin cross-shaped shadow of attention, small enough to lift but heavy with the silence of Clonmacnoise.
