What is recorded here

An outline cross carved on a small, worn slab in Clonmacnoise still shows a rounded end and the letters EA. It may have marked one life among thousands, or it may have fallen from a larger cross when the monastery changed. Either way, the stone survived to keep a shape that water and time have not erased.
