What is recorded here

Clonmacnoise holds a tiny sixteenth-century cross-slab, no larger than a palm, its double outline blurred by centuries of rain and handling. It never bore a name, leaving the dead person beneath it invisible to history. That absence is not a failure but an invitation: the church remembered the shape of faith while forgetting the human story inside it.
