What is recorded here

That is the smallest visible piece of Clonmacnoise, an eight-and-a-half-centimetre shard of a cross no longer whole. It may have been a ring cross, but time has erased the proof. What remains is a fragment, not a monument, and it belongs to the many forgotten lives the abbey swallowed.
