Cross-slab in Ardane

In the S sector of an ecclesiastical enclosure (TS074-010----) known as St. Berrihert's Kyle and incorporated in an oval stone enclosure, stepped internally, built by the OPW in 1946 (Ó hÉailidhe 1967, 102). This slab is located in the NE sector, on top of the wall, currently upside down. It is described by Ó hÉailidhe (1967, 114) as slab 30, composed of sandstone (dims 0.22m x 0.18m; T 0.065m). 'Lower portion of a Latin cross in low relief (6mm) with rounded hollows in the angles. The bottom half of the stone stands out 3mm from the face of the cross. The back is not visible' (ibid.).
