Cross-slab in Ardane

In the W sector of an ecclesiastical enclosure (TS074-010----) known as St. Berrihert's Kyle and incorporated in an oval stone enclosure, stepped internally, built by the OPW in 1946 (Ó hÉailidhe 1967, 102). This slab is referred to by Ó hÉailidhe (1967, 118) as slab 66, and was 'fixed in a "station" on the boundary bank (9th)'. It is described by Ó hÉailidhe (ibid.) as being a slab composed of coarse grey sandstone (dims 0.25m x 0.26m; T 0.08m), and consisted of 'Upper part of cross in low relief (3mm). The head and one arm splay slightly. The back is not visible'. This slab is now lying loose on the W bank of the enclosure.
