Cross-inscribed pillar in Toureen

This pillar has been built into the external face of the E gable of the church (TS075-023001-), 1.82m from the SE angle, at Toureen Peacaun monastery. It was probably built into the wall in 1944 (Okasha and Forsyth 2001, 287). In a photograph taken in the 1930s it is located at a ‘station’ at the W end of the church (ibid.). It is a pillar (H 0.785m; Wth 0.21m; T 0.025m) with a wheeled cross (H 0.48m) in relief on one face. It has the remains of an illegible six-letter inscription just above the wheel on either side of the shaft (Waddell and Holland 1990, 179; Okasha and Forsyth 2001, 286-9, listed as Toureen Peacaun 39).
