Fire took half the cross before anyone could read it. What remains is a short stone arm with a rounded head, no taller than a kitchen table, pulled from Sceilg Mhichíl and set inside the OPW depot at Killarney. The missing shaft may have stood through storms, prayers and forgotten feet. The surviving fragment still points upward, holding the shape of what the flame erased.

This poorly preserved, fire-damaged fragment of a stone cross (L 0.46m; Wth 0.4m; T 0.05m) was on Sceilg Mhichíl and is now in the care of the OPW (National Monuments Depot, Killarney). It displays one arm with traces of rounded angles and a rounded head. The second arm and shaft are missing. This cross has been allocated the SMR number KE066-228---- at its present location in the OPW Depot, Killarney.
