What is recorded here
St. Patrick's Rock stands opposite a holy well on the Ballina-Killala road, holding a memory rather than a visible cross. Local tradition claims a granite marker once topped the boulder, but that bright shape has vanished into time. The empty stone remains, waiting for the missing piece to return or inviting imagination to complete what facts withheld.
Located on the W side of the main Ballina-Killala road, opposite a holy well (MA030-052003-).
According to local information, a granite cross (MA030-052004-) was once mounted on a boulder (MA030-052005-), known as St. Patrick's Rock. The form, date and current whereabouts of this cross are unknown.
