Crògearraidh Mòr rises to approximately 500 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Outer Hebrides. Its name, meaning "Great Horn," suggests a prominent or pointed form, typical of the region's ancient, eroded sandstone and quartzite geology. It matters as a local landmark within the cultural and natural heritage of Na h-Eileanan Siar.
