Why this matters

Crib Lem is a sea cliff composed primarily of Silurian greywacke, formed around 440–420 million years ago through sedimentation and subsequent lithification in a deep marine environment. The cliff is notable for its resistant rock type, which has withstood coastal erosion, and for its location within the broader geological sequence of the Welsh Caledonides.
