Bogland rock
Creag Mèagaidh is a small rocky outcrop rising above the surrounding peatland, likely no more than a few metres in height. Its name, meaning "Lean Rock" in Scottish Gaelic, suggests a long, slender or narrow shape. The hill is probably of glacial or igneous origin, typical of the Scottish uplands, though its low profile and remote setting in a bogland area mean it holds little prominence beyond local geographic interest.
