Crawstone Rock is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its role in the local geology of the Calder Valley and its potential as a site for studying the regional Carboniferous rock succession.
