Crathes Castle Policies holds post-medieval ice-houses built between 1561 and 1899. They stand inside the castle estate in Aberdeenshire, where cold stone chambers may have preserved food through long winters. The grounds belong to the castle, so curiosity must stay outside unless permission is given.
