What is recorded here

Crannog in Shancroaghan is a small peninsula projecting into Town Lough on the NE side of County Cavan, locally called the island though never marked on official surveys. Timber piles still surface there, suggesting people once drove wood into lake mud to build a home or hide a cache. The water may have swallowed the true island while the land claimant kept the name, turning a crisp border into a fluid memory.
