Crannog in Leitrim: an artificial island, built or shaped for human use, perhaps with timber, soil and courage. The name itself carries the idea of a made place, a small world set apart from the land. Whether it held a hut, a shrine or a hidden kitchen, the crannog still asks to be pictured, not dismissed.
