Corraneary holds a crannog, an artificial island built among waters where people lived, kept animals or fled danger when land became unsafe. The name preserves a small community that shaped the lake rather than waiting for the lake to allow them entry. Nothing flashy remains in the request, yet the place still points to human cunning, patience and the need for a floor of their own making.
