Crannog in Carrowcrory

Connected to the W shore of Templevanny Lough by an area of boggy, wet grassland. A roughly circular low-mound crannog (24.4m N-S; 23.4m E-W; H 1.47m above the lake-bed). The centre consists of a rounded elevation (18m N-S; 18m E-W; H 0.84m) that slopes gently from its central point, but drops abruptly at the edges. The elevation is surrounded by a peaty berm with an even surface. The crannog is overgrown with grass and surrounded by reeds.
