What is recorded here

Crannog at Loughinsholin is an early Christian lake dwelling preserved in County Derry. It is not certain whether the wood is local or from elsewhere, but the men knew their craft. They cut branches, shaped them into a small house, and set it upon the water. The lake kept the structure from rotting while the world above forgot the names of its makers.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CRANNOG AT LOUGHINSHOLIN. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
