This blue commemorative plaque records: Crampoaks Mill This Building was formerly the weaving shed of Crampoaks (Crumpax) Mill which was built in 1851 and operated until 1959. The mill was one of the carliest cotton mills in the town. Both spinning and weaving took place on this site and by 1925 the mill housed 501 looms. The site of the present filling station used to be the mill lodge. Recorded plaque organisation: Longridge Heritage Committee.
Crampoaks Mill, established in 1851, was one of the earliest cotton mills in town, significant for its long operation until 1959 and for housing up to 501 looms by 1925, reflecting the area's industrial heritage.
