Craiglockhart - Castle Greg - Castledykes may be a Roman road, a thin line of pressure stretching across South Lanarkshire before written memory. If stones were laid there, they were laid for speed, not ceremony, perhaps carrying soldiers, grain or orders toward places that no longer answer. The dykes and castle name suggest a boundary, a threshold where one world stopped and another began. Even without proof, the shape fits: a road is a claim made repeated, and repetition is the oldest language.
